Schedule a Script to Run

Required security profile permissions: Script Schedules Create

Script scheduling allows administrators and users who write scripts to schedule the execution of a script by the time of day, the day of week, and so forth. Scripts also maintain persistence data so administrators can handle "reawakened" scripts. This protects the system in the event that someone creates thousands of instances of the same script running all at the same time.

  1. Click RoutingScript Schedules.
  2. Click Create New.
  3. Type the Name for the schedule.
  4. Select a Script Name from the drop-down list of scripts in your system.
  5. Select a Schedule Type from the available choices: One Time, Continuous, or Recurring. The Continuous option is disabled if the Script Name value is not a system script. A system script cannot contain media-specific actions that enable it to run continually. If media actions are required, the system script can SPAWN another script that accomplishes those tasks.
  6. Select a Skill from the drop-down lists of skills in your system.
  7. Configure the Duration based on the value you selected for Schedule Type:

  8. Click Next.
  9. (OPTIONAL) Type custom script parameters.
  10. Click Save.
  11. Click Activate.
