File Storage Life Cycle Management Rules
Required security profile permissions: File Storage View
Actions
- Keep
- Appears in the drop-down under both Active Storage and Long-Term Storage. This setting specifies that you want to keep recordings in the specified storage type. When you select this option, the After (# of Days) field becomes view-only.
- Archive
- Appears in the drop-down under Active Storage only. This setting works with the value you enter in After (# of Days) to specify how long recordings will be kept in active storage before being moved to long-term storage.
- Delete
- Appears in the drop-down under both Active Storage and Long-Term Storage. This setting works with the value you enter in After (# of Days) to specify that recordings in the specified storage type will be deleted after the set length of time.
- Move to Secure External Access
- Appears in the drop-down under Active Storage only. Moves the files to Secure External Access (SEA) after reaching the set number of days. This action does not leave a copy in cloud storage and, when you select this option, the Copy to Secure External Access field is disabled. The files are automatically deleted from SEA after 30 days if you have not already moved them or deleted them manually.
- Copy to Secure External Access
- Appears in the Active Storage area only and is only enabled when you choose an action other than Move to Secure External Access. Directs the system to make a copy of the files and sends those copies to Secure External Access (SEA) so you can pull them to your own internal storage. These copied files are automatically deleted from SEA after 30 days if you have not already moved them or deleted them manually. The original files still follow the rules you set to keep, archive, delete, or move. The time period designated for original files must be equal to or greater than the copy. For example, you cannot delete a file after 15 days, but copy the file after 30 days.
- After # of Days
- Allows you to apply a number of days value to an action. The minimum number of days for any action is zero (0), and entering this value causes the associated action to occur immediately. The maximum number is 9,999 days. The system counts day one as the day the recording file was created. This field becomes disabled when you select the Keep action.
