Create/Edit a V1 Chat Profile

Required security profile permissions: Chat Profiles Create or Edit

Chat profiles allow you to customize the appearance of the customer chat interface. Chat profiles can be either V1 (using ASPX) or V2 (using HTML5).

This topic explains how to create or edit a V1 chat profile.

Create a Chat Profile

1. Click Routing → Chat Profiles.
2. Click Create New.
3. Type a unique, descriptive Profile Name.
4. For Interface, select V1 (ASPX).
5. (OPTIONAL) Select a new Color Scheme from the drop-down.
6. (OPTIONAL) Add a logo to the lower left corner of the window.

   In the Logo Image field, complete one of the following:

   • If you already uploaded the logo to the platform for another purpose, select Select Existing. Click Browse and locate the image in the Select File window. Click the image to select it. Click OK.
   • If you want to upload a new logo, select Upload New. Click Choose File and locate the image you want to upload. Click the image to select it. Click Open.

   You cannot add a logo to an existing chat profile. If you create a chat profile without a logo and later decide you want to include a logo in the customer chat interface, you must create a new chat profile and assign it to the appropriate point of contact.

7. Change the style settings for the Window, Dialogs, and Status as needed, using the Preview window to view your updates.
8. Click Save.

Edit a Chat Profile

1. Click Routing → Chat Profiles.

2. Locate the chat profile you want to modify and click it to open it.
3. Click Edit.
4. Change the Profile Name or Color Scheme as needed.
5. (OPTIONAL) Add, modify, or remove the logo in the lower left corner of the window.

   In the Logo Image field, complete one of the following:

   • If you already uploaded the logo to the platform for another purpose, select Select Existing. Click Browse and locate the image in the Select File window. Click the image to select it. Click OK.
   • If you want to upload a new logo, select Upload New. Click Choose File and locate the image you want to upload. Click the image to select it. Click Open.

   You cannot add a logo to an existing chat profile. If you create a chat profile without a logo and later decide you want to include a logo in the customer chat interface, you must create a new chat profile and assign it to the appropriate point of contact.

   • To remove the current logo, select Remove Logo. Click Yes.

7. Click Done.
