Automated Outbound Overview

The automated outbound tool, or the outbound dialer, automatically calls contacts for you when you log into an outbound phone skill. It immediately begins dialing after you log in and displays information about the contact it is currently dialing. When the dialer detects ringing, it connects you to the call. You have the ability to manually specify that the number is a fax machine or answering machine, but the dialer determines that itself after a few seconds. When you connect with a contact, you can hear the initial greeting and begin speaking immediately.

When you finish conversing with a contact, you might have to complete after call work, such as selecting a disposition for the call or scheduling a callback. When the dialer delivers a schedule callback, it automatically dials the call unless it was a callback that you scheduled for yourself. You must accept an agent-specific callback before the dialer calls the contact.
